History
Our community was sparked from a number of people involved within a church that wanted to investigate further what being community meant and what living in the kingdom of God looks like in Los Angeles. A series of weekly talks began with the purpose of getting an idea of “what would this intentional community look like/be about?”
In May 2008 six of us moved in. We all relocated to live in Boyle Heights and to live in a single house together. As time went on, we developed a certain “rhythm” of things we did together including meal times, prayer, worship gatherings, and neighborhood involvement. And as even more time went on, we journeyed on the process of what we were about and what God was leading us towards in this place together.
We are now, in Spring 2011, a community of 12 with many other “friends of” the community. We live in 4 different households, all within a one mile radius of each other. Feel free to reach out and connect with us to learn more about community living or just to visit and have some fun.

Agreeing with you for God’s direction and a new house.

I am greatly inspired by your existence at RestoreLA. My spouse (David) and I would love to meet with you all. We are birthing an intentional community here in Downey called the GAPS Community. Aiko Guevara was a classmate of ours from college. She suggested we connect. Shall we? Much peace.
Hey Christie! Why don’t you send your email address to us @ restorela@gmail.com? We’ll make sure you get invited to our next event!
